How do I change my account details?

Updating your account information at Safeguard Securities is straightforward and can be completed through your secure client portal. Certain changes may require additional verification to protect the security of your account.

STANDARD UPDATES

To update your contact information (email address, phone number, mailing address), log in to your client portal and navigate to Account Settings > Personal Information. Changes to contact details are processed immediately and confirmed via email notification.

SENSITIVE CHANGES

Modifications to sensitive account details—such as your legal name, Social Security Number, bank account linkages, or beneficiary designations—require identity verification for security purposes. You will be asked to upload a valid government-issued photo ID and, in some cases, provide supporting documentation (e.g., a marriage certificate for a legal name change).

These requests are reviewed by our compliance team and typically processed within 1–3 business days. You will receive email confirmation once the update is complete.

ACCOUNT TYPE CHANGES

If you need to change your account type (e.g., upgrade from an individual account to a joint account, or apply for margin privileges), please contact your account representative or submit a request through the client portal. Our team will guide you through the required documentation and approval process.
